I had a faint hope that the change of pressure on the flights over would help the God awful situation with my ear and my sinuses. But no. The initial prognosis is a definite no. Just made things worse.
You young uns trust the Google whereas I do not. This thing it has of sending you 20K out of your way just to make a “safe” U turn is exhibit 1. Then it tries to take you down some very sketchy roads. Not good. You’ve got to keep an eye on it.
Filion Suites Resort, great hotel, great food, great staff.
Crete, lovely place. Terrifying mountain roads. They seem to skimp on the road signs a lot. You know, for very sharp bends ahead. All there ever is, if they deign to put one up, is a Red Triangle with what looks like a limp dangle on a yellow background. That’s if there’s anything left after its been shot to pieces by the gun-totting locals.
The best costal walks are on the south side but the best hotels are on the north. It is not a small island – just over half as big as N.I. but long with a narrow waist, which is the bit I picked so that I could cross over relatively easily.
I don’t want to do that again, that driving for hours to and fro. Give me a luggage transfer service and a new hotel every night, every time.
A pic of the hotel so I can remember it on my death bed. Seven in the morning. A mile from the coast and the village of Bali – didn’t get there.
