Port Anna Loop – 21st May 2024

The idea was an early start to get around this loop before the rain came. Then get to the hotel for a hot shower and lunch etc. but I forgot that everything closes here on Tuesdays. Couldn’t even get in to the hotel though I had a booking. Eventually had to give up and find a new one. Hard to get one with a restaurant but finally, knackered, I rock up and he tells me that the restaurant is fully booked by a walking group – fawk. Too tired to start all that shit again so I’m staying.
Parts of this loop are on the GR34 east coast of France path that I hope to do, along with many others. Oh, if only the body was ten years younger.
As I write the storms have come – lightening and thunder so I’ll not be heading out to dinner just yet.

Head off from the ferry along the shores of Le Marle. Sky looks like it is going to dump on me again.
The wild French Boeuf that makes for such good eating.
Back to the tidal marsh that makes up much of the landscape.
On the outskirts of Séné and I’m having to avoid the workers digging up the road way. Prob get a good view of things from up there.
The village is called Purgatory. Ok then.
A nice lane for a mile or so. Got caught out taking a piss. Thought I’d be able to spot people coming but he leapt onto the path from a field straight into view of my John Thomas.
Craftsmen still needed to restore the old stonework.
Back to the coast of the Gulf of Moribhan.
Got about a mile and a half on the beach and round the heads, which made for a nice change.
A lone poppy amongst the grasses.
A few more high tides and those trees are done for. Some say it’s that climate change thing. But the sea has been eroding the land since forever, it is its thing. Maybe we just notice it more.
Dragged here by the storm. I wonder what it is that it’s not guarding.
More marsh and little islands.
I doubt that you can see it, but over the way is the Harbour at ile d’Arz.
Still a while for cameras to catch up with the eyeball resolution.
Back in Port Anna. Nearly done.
The jetty from this morning and the Bateaux is just leaving – good timing.

Nice walk today, the rain stayed away and the sun finally came out a bit. OK the everything closed was a big problem and I had to get the car and drive to get lunch. Plus waiting for a hour two times to see if anyone was going to turn up at the first hotel. Never mind. Big drive to the airport tomorrow and then I’ll soon get to see my babies.
