The isles out in the ocean, Houat and Hoëdic are gorgeous, small sandy places with a wonderful atmosphere and a pleasant ferry trip to boot.
The inner isles remind me greatly of Strangford lough, the look is the same, the many boats and harbours, the vegetation and animal life – minus the lizards of course. More sandy bays though than you’d get in Strangford and the food is French. So no chippys or Chinese take aways.
All in all a very gentle six days walking, no big climbs or descents, nothing much to strain the old legs and just about the right sort of average of nine ish miles a day.
I think that’s me done. The real world has caught up with me so I’m not sure how to carry on. I do have a few days while Alex is on work placement in Swansea already booked and paid for so, I suppose that’s a contradiction, but I can’t see me heading off anywhere else this year.
I’ll just have to sit and fester.
