Cardon to La Pared – 23rd February 2025

After yesterday’s hairy scary adventure I wanted a quiet easy day. However, I got so involved with a German couple just that little bit slower than comfort for me that I had to overtake them and do that spurt away. A mile later I realise that I have missed the path and gone the wrong way. Now I have to sheepishly turn and walk past them again. Ho hum.

Leaving Cardon and the bad mountains.
These bloody monstrosities disturbing the piece for the next hour.
Some smaller climbs to start.
Was hoping but not going to get no climbs.
Me thinking it the road to La Pared but no, wasn’t even on the right side of the mountains yet.
The right side now and the big southern mountains shrouded in cloud in the distance.
Nearly run down by a herd of goats.
La Pared finally. And a undersoil submarine.
The cat welcoming commitee.
La Pared and I just have time for a fake beer before the lift.

You know, I hate all the money spent on the knee jerk response to the increase in CO2 etc. It reminds me of the nonsense with plastic straws, in that, replacing them with much more environmentlly harmful paper ones to appease the loud minority and the ravening red-top media was ill-thought out and ill-informed. The billions that are being spent on so called renewables should all be invested in a technology that will be a permanent fix for the problem, i.e. Hydrogen. The most abundant element in the universe. Volatile and fissionable and clean.
