I find myself in the Harbour House Inn in Newcastle Co. Down. \nIt is a pleasant evening with a light breeze and I'm about to do a few miles in the hills starting at 6.00PM - I should know better - but what's life without a little risk.\nThe first part is straight up the hill, which I hate. I can't seem to get my 2nd wind and end up head down, counting my rapidly reducing steps and promising myself I'll stop and rest after another 100 or so.\nI lie. Eventually the metabolism switches on and that lovely feeling comes over me. My head comes up and my stride lengthens a bit and before I know it, the top is reached.\nBy no means the hill eating machine of my youth I nonetheless feel great that the mechanism is still there to answer the call. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/picton-lynas.co.uk\/walkingblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/20220916_181520-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/>
The Bogie line follows the path of an old funicular railway.
