The plane from Belfast yesterday was delayed by an hour an a half and I was a trifle concerned that I&#8217;d miss the connection to the Scillys. However, not to worry because the fog locked things down and after five hours in the airport, I ended up spending the night in Exeter. <br>The airline paid for taxis to and from the hotel and the airport but not the hotel itself which I was lucky to get as there was a bit of a rush once the announcement was made to cancel everything. They also paid for a coach to Penzance at the crack of dawn so that I could get to the three hour bouncy ferry to St. Mary&#8217;s. <br>Not to moan but those f&#8217;ing &#8211; never shut the fuck up even for a minute &#8211; women that were beside me in the airport were next to me on the coach, and the ship. I was the thickness of a public hair from throwing myself from the damn thing.<br>I&#8217;ve had to re-jig the walks which is why I&#8217;m doing St. Mary&#8217;s first and hoping that the little inter-island boats will readjust for me tomorrow and Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>16th September &#8211; 20th September 2024 Well it was a fun trip getting here.
