Caribbean quality white sand and shallow waters. Lovely inter-island travel and just the right size islands for a day&#8217;s or half-day&#8217;s trek.<br>September is minus the families and the, no doubt, mad crowds of kids but is instead filled with the retired and mostly much retired. This is very nice in a way as they are all very polite. No pushing in the queues for this mob. However, they do dodder about a bit and get in the way. Especially in the narrow lanes and on the jetties.<br>The lost day to the fog was a bit of a bummer and I had to rejig the water-taxies to fit but in the end they sorted me out &#8211; albeit &#8211; with little notice, as they waited for the tides to give them enough water to get to the quays.<br>The sad thing is that circumstances have changed and I doubt that I will get to travel for a very considerable time. When I do, I&#8217;d hate to think that it will be as those much retired folks who keep going &#8211; all praise to them &#8211; but count a mile or two as day&#8217;s walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a place.
