Morro Jable to Faro punta de Jandia – 27th February 2025

Last day and it is a beaut. That constant up and down into dry river valleys, a climb at the start and a long drag to the final. Still, must make the most of it. It is a forty five minute trek down a bumpy gravel road for Esme to get to me. Christ knows how the bus does it.

Leaving Morro Jable, a busy mostly German town.
The fast ferry from Gran Canaria. Fred Olsen – a Norwegian.
Looks like it will be its last sailing crashing into the coast like that.
Curving towards the shoulder of this last mountain then down to the coast.
You can just see a hint of Gran Canaria off the coast.
Much better on this one. Loads of mountain climbing.
You know the way that goats will eat anything. Plastic construction strips. She’s probably brought that whole building down.
I can see the lighthouse out on that distant point. Seems a bit far to me.
Water cisterns are long dry but loving the art work.
Better view of the finish. Gods! this path is neverending.
That’s it done. The last mountain, though only its lower shoulder.
To the sea at last.
I do like it when the rocks are laid out like this and you can see back millions of years.
Just sitting on a handy white bollard watching the ferry go by.
You can see a couple in this one and the finish is much clearer as is Gran Canaria.
An empty beach!
Private dining, barbeque style.
Was able to walk across that beach for a bit of a break. Most welcome to the sore feet.
It is the old near but far sitch. Feet very sore.
I might just have time for a sit down in a cafe, if there is one.
The Faro and it looks like there are some seats.
The view back to Morro Jable.
Fuerteventura done face. A bit smug if you ask me.
Joined by the very fractitous Duckie after being stuck inthe car for hours.

Though today was long, hot and very hard near the finish, it was a lovely walk. Gentle for the most part but for the interminable ups and downs of the dry valleys running down from the mountains. Would have loved a cafe in the middle but can’t always have what I want.
