Cap d’Artrutx to Cala en Blanes – 21st April 2026

The last day, and apart from the burning in my lower legs, I am feeling strong. Most of today will be on the cliffs, walking through that limestone scarf, but the other portion will be in the town and the villages each side – some smooth surface for a change.
Today, a first. I’ve passed many naturalist beaches and indeed many normal beaches where people feel free to strip down – more power to them – but coming up the trail today, a naturalist hiker. His rucksack must chaff, I imagine, and some of those climbs that could do with a ladder must end up with him dangling his dingle in the dust. March on old grey dude.

The start and, in the far distance, I can see the finish. The Mallorca ferry on the move.
Cala Blanca ahead and the start of the built up area.
I can clearly see the hotel now, not the big one on the point, the smaller one a bit to its right.
Cala Santandria. Every property for the last mile has been empty.
The next ferry in the port. Could be nice way to travel – ferry from Barcelona and then between the islands.
The tower at the mouth of the Cala. Looks Arabic with its spinarets.
Some impaled fish at a roundabout. A metaphor for the futility of live?
The Platja Gran. Tough to see why.
The obelisk beside the …
Tourist office?
The bridge was closed, meaning detour, which I hate.
The tower, now from the other side of the harbour.
A bit of peace for a few mins away from the people. God! Must be chaotic in the summer.
The hotel at Cala en Blanes and the finish.

Strange mixture today. Miles across the broken limestone cliffs – which in Malta is called the Garrigue – for the last time, then miles through the tourist conurbations with increasing crowds for the first time. Then the path passes beneath the hotel and finish – Menorca done.
